About me

I am a warm and down-to-earth Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working in public health, university settings and private practice. I recognise how hard it can be to reach out for therapy and see you as brave for taking the first step. I value the importance of developing a safe, therapeutic relationship, holding space for a person to explore their inner and external worlds. I also acknowledge the sociopolicital forces impacting on your wellbeing. I am passionate about the mind-body connection and supporting people to reconnect with their bodies, settle and regulate their nervous systems, and access their inner wisdom. I enjoy supporting people with:

  • Chronic stress and burnout, including work-related issues

  • Anxiety and mood concerns

  • Feeling stuck or lost in life

  • Low self esteem

  • Life transitions

  • Relationship difficulties and understanding attachment, including making sense of childhood experiences or family of origin issues

  • Developmental and complex trauma

  • Physical health conditions (e.g., chronic pain, cancer, autoimmune conditions, women’s health and men’s health issues)

  • Perinatal issues (e.g., fertility issues, pregnancy, birth and postpartum), including supporting parents develop self-compassion and confidence from an attachment lens.

“When we look at trees in nature, we often deeply appreciate the way that the elements of the world around them have shaped them… Trees have knots and gnarls and asymmetries because of their access to soil, nutrients, water, and sunlight. And we too have been shaped by the elements of the world around us, our own access to resources.

Would it be possible to appreciate yourself in the same way that you would appreciate that tree? Your own asymmetries being welcome here. The way that you have adapted and the ways that you have found your resilience, maybe in the unexpected ways?”

- Dr Arielle Schwartz (Clinical Psychologist and Yoga Teacher)

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which I live and work. I pay my respects to the Elders past, present and future, and acknowledge their continuing connection and contribution to the land, waters and sky.
